The classical music road evolved through the centuries with distinct styles that were characteristic during certain historical periods. The music of the 20th century, however, continued without a dominant style. Composers created a highly diverse works in many different musical styles, such as Modernism, Impressionism, post-Romanticism, Neoclassicism, Expressionism, Minimalism Atonality, Serialism, musique concrète, and electronic music. Bartók, Barber, and Glass all took a different tack in their works with a very distinct personal voice. Their styles are at crossroads.
This concert is given in preparation for the Romanian concerts as part of this season’s American Romanian Festival.
