ARCHITECTURE AND POWER
1994, Nicolae Margineanu, 52 min narrated in English

Political power always betrays its intentions through architecture. This is a history of Bucharest seen through the eyes of totalitarian architecture.

BRAN CASTLE, VLAD TEPES VS DRACULA, RASNOV STRONGHOLD
2005, Nicolae Margineanu, 60 min, narrated in English

The Castle owes its fame to the legendary Bram Stoker’s Dracula, character inspired by the actual Prince Vlad Tepes (i.e., Vlad the Impaler). Despite the lack of actual proof of his dwelling at Bran, curiosity and the excitement of possibly meeting the enigmatic hero bring by many visitors, lovers of the legend. The film relates the history of the castle as well as of the real Romanian king Vlad Tepes.

Possible discussions between movies to be facilitated by U of M Film Department faculty or students.
