Victor Andrei Părău has studied and obtained a Master’s degree in piano at the Faculty of Music and Theatre of the West University of Timișoara, studying with Prof. PhD Maria Bodo, and is currently pursuing a PhD degree with Prof. PhD Dana Borșan’s at the National University of Music in Bucharest. Since 2015, he has held teaching positions as a piano teacher at the „Ion Vidu” National College of Art Timișoara and a collaborative pianist at the Faculty of Music and Theatre of the West University of Timișoara.

He is a laureate of several national and international competitions, most notable being 2nd and Special Prizes at the Lira de Aur Competition (Suceava, Romania, 2004), 1st Prize at the V. Vuckovic International Competition (Belgrade, Serbia, 2007), 1st and Special Prizes at the Remember Dinu Lipatti National Piano Competition (Iași, Romania, 2008), Special Press Prize at the Eurovision Young Musicians National Phase (Bucharest, Romania, 2008), Special Prize at the Bela Bartók International Piano Competition (Szeged, Hungary, 2010), Grand Prize at the Suoni nel Pollino–Gran Premio della Calabria International Competition (Cosenza, Italy, 2011), and 3rd and Special Prizes at the Duo Pianistic Chamber Music Competition (Cluj-Napoca, Romania, 2013).

Victor Andrei Părău has performed throughout his career in numerous solo and chamber recitals at festivals in Timișoara (Timișoara Musical School Days Festival, Academic Musical Timișoara 2009-2011, Chamber Music Festival 2010, Enescu-Bartók Musical Days 2013, Musical Timișoara International Festival 2014, Intrada International New Music Festival 2014, 2015, 2017, Timsonia International New Music Festival 2014, 2018), in Romania (ACCUMM Foundation Recitals in Bucharest 2013, Craiova Muzicală International Festival 2016) and abroad (Germany, Serbia, Hungary, Italy). In 2015, he studied and performed within the SoNoRo-Interferențe scholarship program. As a pianist, he has also collaborated with the Banatul Philharmonic Timișoara, with conductor Christoph Reihl during a series of conducting masterclasses in 2014 and 2015; with tuba soloist and professor Siegfried Jung; and with tuba soloist Gianmario Strappati. He has performed as a soloist with the Banatul Philharmonic Timișoara, the DKMT Euroregional Symphonic Orchestra, the Symphonic Orchestra of the Faculty of Music in Timișoara, and the Universitaria National University of Music Orchestra in Bucharest, with conductors Gheorghe Costin, Roberto de Maio, Alexandru Ganea, Mircea Holiartoc, Laurenţiu Muntean, Sabin Pautza, and Radu Popa. Since 2013, he has been a member of the Atem Ensemble based in Timișoara, a collective dedicated to promote and perform modern and contemporary music, with artistic programs presented in Romania (Timișoara, Craiova, București, Bușteni, Oravița) and Germany, at festivals such as Timișoara Muzicală, Craiova Muzicală, Intrada, Timsonia, and Cafékultour.
